Today’s the first day of winter! And, it’s only 76 degrees (not too cold yet), with a cool breeze. Yesterday we went searching for the perfect Christmas tree to chop down and decorate. We have lots of ceder trees growing wild all over our property so there’s no need to go and buy one.
We found this one and thought it was perfect for the job (this picture isn’t the best, but it was the only one of it before it was chopped down).
Shortly after putting it up in our living room, we started decorating it.
Our Christmas tree is now decorated and ready for Christmas! Just three more days until Christmas, can’t wait!
The other day Amanda and Jess wanted a good picture of me, Mini and Penny together. Here’s what happened when they were trying to take a “Good” picture of us.
While Amanda and Jess were trying to get a good picture of all of us looking at the camera, we kept accidentally looking in the wrong directions….And Penny kept on laying down.
In this first picture I was looking…then I got distracted and Mini and Penny were looking. Amanda says that the second picture would have been perfect if only I would have been looking the whole time, but hey, something caught my eye.
This was the best picture we chose (if only Mini wasn’t blinking).
Do you have trouble trying to take that perfect picture of your dog (or dogs)?
I really love my squirrel toy I got from Walmart, it’s so much fun! It’s my favorite toy to play with. Ever since Amanda upgraded my squeaker, I haven’t been able to stop it from squeaking!
I have been trying to kill it for a few days now, but haven’t been able to. The first day I got the squeaker a quarter of the way out, but then Amanda put it back in (good thing she didn’t sew the hole back up all the way when she upgraded my squeaker)!
I guess I’ll just have to keep at it if I want to get more of these toys.
Mini:Last year on September 20th Barbarella and I went to Tractor Supply’s annual P.A.W. (Pet Appreciation Week) celebration. Last year we didn’t get but a few pictures that weren’t that good, so this year we made sure we got a lot of better ones! This year P.A.W. lasted from September 16th-21st, we went on the 20th. As soon as we walked in the door all the people where aawww-ing (is that a word?) over Barbarella and me.
Barbarella: Yeah! Even when we were registering for a chance to win a TSC gift card, people wanted to pet us we were so cute. A lot of the people who we talked to also had Dachshunds, too bad they didn’t bring them to the store with them so we could meet them.
Mini:After we were done registering and picking up our free stuff. We forgot to get the little booklet about 4health pet food, but that’s ok because we eat the 4health brand and know it’s good dog food. But we did get: a tennis ball, place mat, temporary tattoo and 4health food sample for each of us.
Barbarella: And after getting petted and talked about.
Mini: The first place we headed to was the aisle with all the chews. The pig ears were on the higher shelves that Barbarella and I couldn’t reach so Jess helped us out and got them for us. Next to the pig ears were beef hooves for .99 each. We ended up getting a beef hoof each and a pig ear to share.
Barbarella: There were two different color hooves (black & yellow) I got a yellow one and Mini got a black one. Normally we don’t get beef hooves, but this time we thought we’d try them out.
Mini: There were some yummy looking bones within reach. Too bad we couldn’t get one of them as well. Jess didn’t even let me nibble on them, all I got to do was sniff.
Mini: The chews aisle was also the toy aisle. We looked them over, but didn’t get any.
Mini: After we got our pig ear and beef hooves, we left the chews aisle and sniffed around a bit, eating all the spilled food that we found on the floor.
Barbarella: There weren’t too many pieces of kibble on the floor, but we ate every single one we found. Every time Amanda heard me crunching on something she was like “Barbarella, what did you just eat?”. Then, she finally found out that it was some kibble that was dropped.
Mini: We needed a bag of kibble so that’s where we headed next. While they put a bag of 4health lamb and rice in our basket Barbarella and I thought we’d check out some of the other brands.
Mini: Something smelled good over to the left.
Mini: I smelled the Earthborn Holistic and Merrick Kibbles. Good brands but too expensive!
Barbarella: And I checked out the Purina Pro Plan, Nutro and Science diet brands.
Mini: We walked all over the store (that is, the places that had stuff for us dogs) we even went to look at the dogs they had up for adoption in the middle of the store. There was this one big black dog that didn’t like us small doggies much and barked and growled at us. So, we barked and growled at him for a while until Jess and Amanda calmed us down and told us to stop.
Barbarella: Once we calmed down and stopped barking, a nice lady came over to pet and talk to us.
Mini: Somehow we ended up in the horse aisle after that. I thought this was supposed to be a trip for us doggies only. We didn’t stay on the horse aisle for too long, Jess was just checking to see if they had a piece of tack that she wanted back in stock yet.
Barbarella; To cheer us up after having that big dog bark at us, we visited the treats aisle.
Mini: We didn’t get any treats from the treat aisle because there wasn’t too big of a selection. So, we just walked around some more. After sniffing around and looking at other stuff, we started to head to the register to pay for our goodies.
Mini: On the way to the register we found a basket full of discounted treats. We picked a bag of Blue Dog Bakery assorted paws treats. By assorted paws it means a lot of yummy chicken flavored, cheese flavored and bacon flavored paw shaped treats.
Mini: There there is no way I am ever going to leave a store without getting a treats or two with this cute face of mine. And I’ll make sure Barbarella gets a treat too.
Barbarella: Jess and Amanda also got a treat for themselves too, old fashioned lemon drop candies.
Mini: After we were all done in town we headed home.
Jess/Amanda: Mini and Barbarella behaved very well and let people pet them this time. Even though they did bark back at the black dog that barked at them, they were good girls for quieting down when we told them to. Last year they did pretty well, but they were a bit scared because it was their first time going into a store. We all had fun and hope to go next year too!
Mini: Remember that we said Jess and Amanda registered for a chance to win a gift card? Well, guess what… Jess WON!! Jess says, she will make sure to get some treats and toys for me (and Barbarella) with the gift card, but she might also use it to get some things for the horses.
